2009 Nuclear Weapons - Group 4

This group did a very good job of thoroughly explaining the nature of radioisotopes which allow nuclear weapons to exist. Arguments in defense of this technology dealt with national security when other countries pose a threat. The prosecution dealt with the long list of damages, disease, water supply contamination and nuclear waste after the use of these weapons. Although ending the use of nuclear weapons is highly unrealistic in our world today, morally I agree with the presecution that nuclear weapons do more harm then good.

Yes, i do believe that this group properly identified the unique nature that allows this technology to exist. Some of the defending arguements of Nuclear weapons are that they serve as a defense from other nations who wish to harm that nation. Some prosecuting arguements are that the results of a weapon being used could be devistating on the enviornment around it. Based on the evidence i must ide with the prosecution, the devistating effect of the weapon far out wheighs any benefits.

The group explained in detail the nature that allows nuclear weapons to exists. The pros of this tecnology is it is a deterent for others nations to not attack us. The cons are widespread death and destruction to the people and the enviorment. Though that the cons of nuclear tecnology should make it not exist, it is unlikely that it will happen.

This group did a good job at explaining the nature of these radioisotopes and how they are used in nuclear warfare. These weapons threaten other countries which risks national security, shown by the dafense group. The prosecutors showed how these powerful nuclear missles can cause damage towards the environment, effecting water supply and give off bad nuclear waste. I 100% agree with the prosecter's side that these weapons are bad and cause more problems then necessary.

Yes, this group did present the unique nature that allows the techonology to exist.
The defense argues that nuclear weapons serve as protection from harmful nations.
The prosecuting argument is that the weapons threaten human life with death, destruction and disease.
I agree with the prosecution even though the nuclear weapons will probably never be eliminated.

This group explained the unique nature of a radioisotope that allows for nuclear weapons. In this case it is fission or fusiion, which creates shockwaves that cause the explosion of a the bomb. The fact that the isotopes are very unstable make the bomb very explosive. The only pro to nuclear weapons is national security. The cons number many and include a huge loss of life directly from a blast, with the area around the blast being completely vaporized. Following this, lasting radiation can lead to cancer as well as other diseases in the long run. This radiation can be carried over long distances by wind, which makes them even more lethal. Also, nuclear winter can occur as a result of an explosion. In this case, the cons far outweigh the pros, as the chance for destruction of human life and the enviroment is almost definite in the case of an explosion, so the technology should not be used

This group did a very good job of explaining the nature of radioisotopes in nuclear weapons. The arguments in the defense of the weapons included the reduction a country's national security would have if it did not have nuclear weapons. However, the arguments against nuclear weapons were much stronger in the destruction they cause and the harmful effects to plants, animals, and humans. I would have to go with the side against nuclear weapons.

Yes, i think this group addressed the unique nature of a radioisotope that allows this particular technology to exist. Arguments in defense of nuclear weapons are protection form countries posing a threat. Arguments prosecuting this technology are the harmful effects on the surrounding area. The prosecution of this technology, based on the evidence, makes more sense to me. -147813

This video did a great job at explaining the existence of radioisotopes and how they can be used in nuclear warfare, showing how they threaten countries and their national security. The side of prosecutors showed how the environment can be hurt by the strength of powerful nuclear missiles. These effects can be seen in the water supply because of the nuclear waster that is emitted. I have to agree with the side of the prosecutor because the weapons created because damage that is extremely harmful, hurting more then they help.

Yes, the group properly identified the unique nature that allows the technology to exist.
Some pro-arguments that were made were the fact that Nuclear weapons serves as a defense from other nations and could in essence keep the world in peace. If a nation would like to harm the nation they could have an easy and extremely effective way of defending themselves.
Some arguments agaisnt Nuclear weapons are the results after one is used is truly devestating on all life in a large radius around the hit-spot.
My opinion, the devestating effects of these overpowered weapons far outweigh the benifits that it has.

Yes, the group definitly addressed the unique nature of the radioisotope that allows this particular technology to exist.
Arguments that could be made in favor of Nuclear Weapons include the fact that they can help to be a peace factor or for nations to prevent war due to fear of their enormous power. Also Nuclear Weapons can help defend against an attacking nation.
Some cons of Nuclear Power include the fact that the results are extremely devestating on all life forms within a large radius of the hit spot.
I believe the cons outweigh the pros heavily, and Nuclear Weapons should be all shut down.
